| Description | This paper focuses on economic freedom and its relation to competitiveness in the sense of possibilities of economic growth. It starts with discussion about the relationship between economic freedom and economic growth. Next part analyzes the Economic Freedom of the World Index made by Fraser Institute. The main analysis focuses on description of the initial state of institutional environment and further development during 1990 – 2005 in particular areas of index of economic freedom. The classification of economic freedom and the structure of this paper are made according to Fraser institute and its index “Economic freedom of the world”. However, rather than discussing development of the index itself, the paper is focusing on qualitative aspects of economic freedom. |
