| Description | The study deals with the synodal sermons of several politically and ecclesiastically very different figures of the early Czech reformation (Milicius de Cremsir, Andrea de Broda, Johannes de Jenštejn, Matthaeus de Cracovia, Nicolaus de Luna, Adalbert Ranconis de Ericinio, Johannes Hus). In the sermons, which were meant for clergy, the preachers concordantly demanded orderly priest service, which consisted in preaching proper doctrine, in prayers for the commended people, in upright living and in the priest's willingness to sacrifice his own life for his herd. |
