Description | The purpose of this article is to review the mind-body problem from antiquity to present times. The first philosophical part discuss such figures as Homer, Pythagoras, Plato, Aristoteles, Hippokrates, St. Augustine, Descartes and Merleau-Ponty. The second part presents a cognitive-behavioral model of body-image development and expreriences and summarizes key concepts, princples, and processes inherent in cognitive and behavioral conceptions of body image. |
