Description | Gliomatosis cerebri (GS) is the diffuse infiltration of white and gray matter with neoplastic glial cells of varying levels of differentiation. MRI should be used as a primary imaging study in the evaluation of GC and for the determination of the target points for image guided stereo biopsy. Considerable variation in the natural course of the disease precludes conclusions regarding the impact of radiation therapy on survival. Radiation therapy according to literature in GC is associated with a temporary improvement in or stabilization of clinical symptoms in the majority of these cases. |
