Description | Severe head injuries belong to the most important diseases of central nervous system due to their high morbidity and mortality. Among other things they can worsen immune system status, especially its cellular part. Eventually, it can cause a higher incidence of extra cranial inflammatory complications (pneumonia, urinary infection, sepsis). The aim of our research was to determine the influence of immune system disorders to the occurrence of inflammatory complications. Immune system disorders after the severe head trauma lead to severe immunosuppresion mostly in the cellular part of immunity system. This is likely to play a role in a high number of extracranial complication and even death in these patients. |
