Description | This paper is an inquiry into interaction in written discourse. It considers the signals and strategies the writer may use for guiding the reader towards the intended interpretation of a text and reports the findings of an analysis of coherence strategies in a corpus of UNESCO resolutions, a specimen of the colony text-type used in institutional discourse in intercultural settings. |
