Description Democracy is supposed to be one of the important conditions to establish the principles for the long-run sustainable economic growth. We investigate how political liberalization influenced accumulation of labor and physical as well as human capital in Hungary in years 1988 till 2005. Whether the collapse of the authoritarian regime brought about the growth of their productivity. We find that extensive growth was replaced by intensive one in Hungary. Transition to democracy had positive impact on character nad performance of hungarian economy. We use chronological sequencing of the events in our paper.
