| Description | The publication deals with the analysis of the electoral systems in post-communist countries after the collapse of communist autocracy. The main research aim is based on a presumption that if the electoral system is a key independent variable for the formation of the party system, similar electoral systems will generate a similar party system and the explication of potential differences should be simple. More frequent discrepancy between countries with similar electoral rules indicates that there will be other, more important variables. The first part focuses on the development of electoral systems in post-communist countries. In the second part, the analysis is carried out for particular countries. The subjects for evaluation are direct outcome of the elections, development of the party system, the stability and the form of government and the process of democratisation. Acquired information served for a comparative evaluation in the third part of the thesis. |
