Description | Pathological bone cavities bear relation to the incidence of bone cysts and tumors. In case of a large cavity after the cystectomy, due to inflammation the post-operative heamatoma may disintegrate during the dehiscence of the mucosa suture. If so, the cyst cavity incidentally connected with the oral cavity would heal in a complicated and long-term way. That is why the cyst cavity is being filled with some material that would not only reduce its volume but would also stimulate bone proliferation. Within the frame of our research activity, we follow up the application of human lyophilized bone mesh, which is mixed with patient's venous blood with addition either of hydroxylapatite or tri-calcium phosphate, eventually antibiotics. Regular radiographic evaluation of both bone healing progress and eventual healing complications is carried out both in patients classified according to the applied augmentation material and in control group patients. |
