Description | The paper focuses on primary education, namely on the aspect of Czech and foreign approaches to physical education and health education. Research on literature dealing with the aforementioned fields of study shows that PE and Health Education are embedded in the curricula of the majority of the countries; nevertheless, their conceptions vary. Since the majority of countries declare PE to be "health-oriented", health education is integrated with physical education. Some countries qualify health education as a separate discipline. The Czech conception of physical education and health education is inspired by modern foreign trends. However, as the implementation in Czech schools lags behind, it would be desirable to adopt effective measures to improve the current state of affairs. |
