Description | The author elaborates on Masaryk's criticism of liberalism, considering his frequent inclusion into the liberal stream of thinking. This partly reflects uncertainty as far as the meaning of "liberalism", within the Czech context, concerns. The first of the three parts is occupied with the changing meaning of the notion of "liberalism" as used by various authors, in various times, and in various countries. The core of the text is focused on the interpretation of liberalism in Masaryk's works, particularly in relation to Josef Jungmann. The concluding considerations are related to the relevance of Masaryk's perception to the present. |
