| Description | The paper describes the genesis and history of a 110-year-old Carpathian fir-beech forest. Local historical resources (cadastral map from 1829, land register from 1925, village chronicle from 1923) have enabled the reconstruction of a process of plant succession which led to a shift from pasture in the 19th century to forest in the first half of the 20th century. Interviews with descendants of the original owners about their families perception of forest reveal predominantly positive attitudes. |
