Description | The aim of the book was to find how the lowest level of Czech political system in 206 accredited communes works. In some cases (the coalitions' compositions and types) the research is focused on the local elections in 2002 and 2006, in the other cases the work analyzes all elections since 1994. In the second chapter a new system of their classification is proposed that primarily consists in dividing the large category of surplus majority coalitions. The work is focused on two main topics: on the typology and compositions of the executive coalitions and on the stability of the electoral constellations. The research also shows that also in the bigger towns the local politics has its own logic and dynamics which is not wholly parallel to the logic and dynamics of parliamentary politics. |
