Description | The main goal of this paper is to analyse the fundamental macro-economic indicators of selected countries of the Central and Eastern Europe. These countries were selected according to the needs of the overall tasks of the CVKS. Due to these criteria the analysis was applied to Bulgaria, Rumania, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Slovenia in the period between 1990 and 2007. We analyse these economies from the point of view of the economic growth, inflation, unemployment and selected indicators of the external relations (current account stability, net inflow of FDI and currency reserves). All of the economies were affected by recession at the beginning of the the 1990s which was accompanied by high inflation and unemployment. The impact of the recession was overcome in the following years. And the overall situation of the economies has been generally improving. Currently, the main source of instability in these economies is constituted by a deficit of the current account. |
