| Description | This paper focuses on the problem of existence of interfixes in Spanish language. The controversy regarding the recognition of interfixation as a word formation process is due to the disputable morphemic character of these segments and the obvious heterogeneity of inventory of the hypothetical interfixes. After explaining the basic points of the polemic, the article examines how the interfixes are treated in different monographs on Spanish word formation. |
