Description In the example of the Southern Bohemian domain of Třeboň (Wittingau) the article analyses the way land owners organized, by means of their officials, functioning of the local section of the parish network. The author concludes that the relationship between the local parish network and the domain authorities deepened in the domain of duke of Schwarzenberg in the latter half of the 17th and the first half of the 18th century. The patron and his officers participated in ensuring the technical part of functioning of parish churches, managed the finances, supervised the church administration and attempted to optimize it by means of goal-directed personal policy in filling the parish posts in the domain. The attitude of the duke was determined by a twofold motivation: that of the landlord and that of the church patron, which was evident in the endeavour to harmonize the needs of the domain, parish network and subjects.
