Description The chapter examines some issues concerning sanctions which the European Union may impose on Member states when they break the EU law. Main attention is be dedicated to cases where specifically the Czech Republic was sanctioned for breach of its obligations from the EU law. The author describes an action for failure to fulfill obligation, excessive deficits procedure, simplified enforcement procedure on state aids; sanctions in agriculture. The chapter also contains a list of cases where the Czech Republic was sued for its failure to comply with the EC law.
