Description | Solanaceae family represents an interesting group to study telomere structure and function in an evolutionary context. Solanaceae possess typical plant telomeres (TTTAGGG)n maintained by telomerase (e.g. Solanum, Nicotiana genera). In addition to these, Cestrum, Sessea, Vestia lack Arabidopsis-type telomeres. We searched POT1-like proteins in both Nicotiana and Cestrum group. |
