| Description | The chapter deals with problematic Internet use, i.e. addictive behavior on the Internet. It represents theoretic approaches towards this phenomenon as well as the variability of related terms. Further we discuss the addictive behavior on the Internet in the context of excessive online communication, immoderate playing online MMORPG (Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games), and sexual compulsive behavior on the Internet. Finally, the contribution deals with the research on addictive behavior carried out in the Czech Republic. It focuses on comparison of three dimensions: the amount of time spent online, self-perception as addictive, and addiction score. |
