| Description | The choice of ending of genitive singular of the Czech local names is influenced by several factors. The ending -a is currently used as the only possibility esp. in productive wordcreating type of local names formed by -ov and -ín suffixes, and in words that are formally similar to them. The ending -u strengthens its position, esp. in names where it occurs within doublets. |
