Description | Flow cytometry analysis of PCs is a standard procedure with its position in monoclonal gammopathies diagnostics. It can be used for discrimination of clonal neoplastic PCs from their normal counterparts. Prognostic significance of phenotype of pathological PCs is still analysed. The aim of work is phenotypic analysis of PCs in multiple myeloma (MM) patients and its relation to the prognosis. Results showed that PCs are mostly CD19-CD56+, but detailed analysis revealed other phenotypic differencies what is in concordance with heterogeneity of this disease. Analysis of expression of selected markers can bring new information in relation to the biological behaviour of MM and to prognosis of MM patients. The main goal will be determination of MM patients with low and/or high risk of progression of disease. |
