Description The population belongs to the most dynamic factors of humane sphere and reacts very sensitively to the changes of other components of this sphere and to the evolution of the whole national economics. As a result of that the total number of population, its dislocation and also its structure and dynamics undergo changes. Due to this symbiotic interconnection, state population and health policies are set and various steps are taken subsequently. Present cyclic economic drop does not result in a depression of industrial production, lowering the consumption and the standard of living of the population only. It also brings unwanted accompanying social phenomena and threatens the existing state of health of the population. In 1993 the population of the Czech Republic was 10.330 million and after that until 2006 it was going down permanently. In 2002 the total population of the Czech Republic reached the bottom of 10.200 million. Since then the population number has been growing, due both to a higher natality-rate and to immigration of foreigners. The Czech Republic has been increasingly changing for the foreign immigrants from a transit country to a target one. In 2008 the number of immigrating foreigners was 71 800 and the total number of foreigners reached 438 300.
