Description | The status of the postwar international situation was not favourable. Shaken confidence in the possibility of international communication could have been demonstrated by the first postwar World Exhibition in Brussels in 1958. It was the very first international meeting after Second World War at this level, the last one took place in New York in 1939. Nevertheless, in the atmosphere of general skepticism caused by Cold War, USA nuclear tests and space races arose many interesting ideas combining arts, science and technology. The aim was clear: find a new position of the Man in the middle of completely new situation. |
