Description | This contribution reports on field surveys realised recently in Bahariyah, one of the Egyptian oases, and compares the results with the settlement record from Danubian Europe. It suggests that the desertification of wast areas of North Africa was one of the stimulating demographic factors that stood behind immigrations recorded in certain parts of Europe during the Upper Paleolithic. |
