| Description | The contribution describes the occurrence of variant and double endings in the contemporary declension system of Czech appelative feminine nouns. We attempted to investigate factors influencing the choice of endings and identify such phenomena that prove to be historically progressive. We have focused on three areas of the feminine nouns declension system: transition between the kost and píseň and between the žena and růže model paradigms and on the problems concerning the genitive plural endings of the feminine nouns ending in -ice and -yně. The research utilised texts within the SYN2000 Corpus. |
