Description | Corpus linguistics focuses on analysing and comparing written texts mainly from the point of view of grammar and vocabulary. This article discusses possible ways how to use corpus linguistics also in the area of phonetics and phonology of German. The analysis was based on two comparable texts and their translations focusing on unstressed prefixes in both German texts. Apart from the statistical comparison of the occurrence of these prefixes, the occurrence of the German prefix ver- and its most frequent Czech equivalent roz- were also compared. The statistical data gained can be used for teaching German pronunciation. |
