Description Mutations in the subunits of CAF1 (Chromatin Assembly Factor 1) cause a rapid decrease in telomere length in Arabidopsis thaliana. There are two available methods for the determiination of telomere lengths in Arabidopsis thaliana - TRF (Terminal Restriction Fragment), which determines the bulk telemere length in a population of cells, and PETRA (Primer Extension Telomere Repeat Amplification), which enables the determination of telomere lengths on individual chromosome arms.
