Description | The aim of this study was to valorize the most frequent types of skin defects respect to sex, age and microbes, to comparise vice diagnoses, clinics and to find out average number of microbes in wounds. Strains were collected from 3/2008 to 12/2009 and originated from patients with decubites and skin laesions from various clinics at the St. Anna*s Faculty Hospital in Brno. Altogether 227 patients were tested, 120 men (52,9 %) and 107 women (47,1%), 127 (55,9 %) ambulatory patients and 100 hospitalized patients (44,1 %). The age average of whole group was 64,8 years. One microbe was found in wounds of 73 patients (32,2 %), 2 microbes were found in 84 patients (37,0 %), 3 microbes in 48 patients (21,1 %), 4 microbes in 19 patients (8,3 %), 5 microbes in 3 patients (1,3 %). Patients originated from Ist Department of Dermatology and Venerology dominated (120 patients, 52, 9 %), 72 patients (31, 7 %) originated from 2nd Departemnt of Internal Medicine, 20 patients (8,8 %) originated from 1st department of Internal Medicine - Cardioangiology and 8 patients originated from Department of Urology (3,5 %). In diagnosis dominated L 98.9 (54 patients, 23,8 %) - skin and subcutaneous tissue disease, E 10.5 (51 patients, 22,5 %) – Diabetes mellitus dependent to insulin with periferal circulatory complication and I 83.0 (43 patients, 18,9 %) – venostasis of lower legs with ulcus. Staphylococcus aureus was found in 130 patients (57,3 %), Escherichia coli in 71 patients (31,3 %), Pseudomonas aeruginosa in 46 patients (20,3%) and Gram-negative non-fermenting bacteria in 32 patients (14,1%). We confirmed, that people with diabetes diagnosis, with skin illnes treated with various dermatological preparates and people with circulatory problems have more predisposition to wound formation. Altogether 154 patients (67,8 %) had more than 1 microbe in a wound – diagnosis of a microbe and also antibiotic susceptibility testing is difficult, caution is needed as well as purity of cultures. |
