| Description | Extensive political and financial measures have been put in place to support power generation from renewable resources, which has led to the construction of new wind power plants. However, wind turbines have an impact on the environment and landscape. In particular, it is their impact on landscape character that has been subject to criticism, but also the noise level and danger to bird have been of some concern. This paper discusses what the legislation does to address these problems. The text focuses on the issue of landscape character, but it also touches on other related issues. |
