| Description | Acute worsening of the health status in the elderly with malignant disease can be caused by thromboembolic complication, by paraneoplastic syndrome mediated by tumor mediators, further by hypercalcemia if bones are involved. Difficult to diagnose can be the hyperviscosity syndrome, on the other hand there is expectable hyperuricaemia syndrome or tumor lysis syndrome. Elderly patients suffer more frequently by bleeding or septic complications during malignant disease. |
