Description The study examines the remarkable Mannerist structure of the Chapel of St. Anne at the Olomouc Castle. The building is of interest as a remarkable work of architecture after 1600 refusing to be categorised into a unified stylistic label whether that be the terms of the late Renaissance, Mannerism or the proto-Baroque. Apart from these formal aspects, the restoration work on the Chapel of St. Anne is a unique testimony to the confessionalization work of the Moravian Catholic hierarchy which after the Council of Trent began to consciously and in organised fashion restore the traditional and distinctive Catholic cults, in particular the local patron saints as part of the framework of religious renewal.
