Description | Many of classic and contemporary authors understand the assessment of the clients situation as a key challenge and responsibility of social worker (eg Richmond, 1917; Hollisová, 1964 Bartlett, 1970; Coulshedová, Ormeová, 2006). The assessment can be seeen as a basis for all of activities of a social worker. How the social worker sees the clients life situation, (he/she)will probably translate into a strategy of working with a client. The task of assessing the clients situation, however, is not trivial and raises a number of dilemmas (Musil, 2004) and uncertainties. One aspect of the controversial nature of the assessment process is likely designed around a social worker trying to grasp the truth about human life. |
