Description The paper is connected with the results of sooner realized research intent on the differences of pupils reception of lyrical poetry. This paper deals with the reflection of symbolic character and pun in lyrical texts in five readers for the 5th class of basic school. The types of lyrical poetry, the extent and ways of the work with mentioned language features are analysed in readers. Then three different approaches to the work with lyrical texts and their aesthetical information are claimed. These appproaches were found in textbooks edited by Alter and Fragment, Didaktis and Nová škola, Prodos.
