Description | The introduction of the paper recalls main changes of institutional bases of philosophy in the Czechoslovak Republic after 1918 (formation of new university institutions, reviews, and development of publication and translation activities). The attention is also paid to the discussion on the objectives of philosophy in the Czechoslovak state held by E. Rádl, F. Krejčí, K. Vorovka, F. Pelikán, and joined in the 1930s by Jan Patočka. The question of tasks of Czech philosophy in the new state appeared from the beginning of the discussion as questioning of significance of philosophy in general. |
