Description | Presentation of partial results of project. The research topic is driven by the interest in history of film industry, especially the history of distribution and film screening on a local level. Our goal is to describe the changes in an operation of cinemas in a Moravian metropolis Brno and behavior of local audience between 1930s and 1960s. We choose oral-history research as a key methodology of this project. Through semi-structured interviews with several dozens of employees of Brno’s cinemas (heads of cinemas, projectionists, ushers and booking-clerks) we are looking for answers how historical changes affected the film industry, in particular the regular operation of local cinemas. |
