Description | Affirmative statements seems to be difficult for some translators and even though modern translation theory covers the topic thoroughly, the readers still encounter some major problems when understanding the affirmative statements. The paper covers some examples and focuses on the meaning of the statements. The paper is part of a long term study of parallel and equivalent translations modern Czech translations and presents conclusions of the initial study of affirmative statements in English literature and their reflections in Czech translations. |
