| Description | The paper presents the recent studies on the subject of History of German as a foreign language for the period after 1945, which constitute an important basis for self-definition of the subject, which has developed since about 1970 as a scientific subject. It is quite difficult to collect secure data, because the German division related to different perspectives and also to separate data collections. Besides the history of the institutions that were founded or re-established after the war, especially political developments but also the development of individual professional segments trace are of interrest. The article gives an overview of the research situation and summarizes the main findings. |
