Description | The book focuses on key management areas. The initial part deals with the definition of management. This section also comprises the historical development of management. The concept of organizing emphasizes the explanation of three parameters of an organizational structure, i.e. division of labor in an organization, span of management, and division of responsibilities. The next part, focusing on decision-making, specifies the principles of decision-making first of all. This issue focuses mainly on a detailed explanation of selected methods of a decision analysis; these methods serve for objectification of decision-making acts under certainty, risk, and uncertainty. The last part deals with influencing. A survey of motivation theories is listed first. They include remuneration for work, working conditions, and the work itself. The book is designed for university and MBA students as well as managers, businesspeople and the professional public. |
