Description There appears new information about roles of vitamin D in human body influencing the ageing process as well. The relationship of vitamin D and bones and osteroporosis is well knoewn, but sarcopenia, immunity disturbances, depression, cognitive decline can be negatively influenced by long term defeicit of vitamin D. Results of the piot study of 70 out-patient clinic patients of average age 62,6 years shows warning facts. One fifth of out patient clinic patients fulfilled the normal range of serum level of vitamin D. There was not possible to measure the serum level in every seventh patient, their level was below 10 ug/l and 63% of patient showed the level of vitamin D excluding physiological bone remodelation.
