Description | The aim of this study was the evaluation of the occurrence L. monocytogenes in food from retail market in the Czech Republic in the years 2004-2007 and characterization of acquired isolates on the base of serotyping. Qualitative and quantitative analysis was performed in 2192 food samples: different sorts of raw meat, meat, fish, dairy and delicatessen products, pastry and vegetables. Serotyping was performed by the slide agglutination method, the results were confirmed by multiplex PCR assay. L. monocytogenes has been detected in 111 (5,1%) samples. The highest positive findings were discovered in the group of raw meat samples (12,4%) and frozen vegetables (12,2%). There were important findings of L. monocytogenes in ready-to-eat food, especially in delicatessen products (6,9%), meat products (3,2%) and dairy products (2,2%). Count 100 CFU.g-1 was not exceeded in any of these samples except two meat products. Serotype 1/2 was dominant in analysed isolates. Serotype 1/2a (57,7%) was most often detected, followed by serotype 1/2b (27,0 %) and 1/2c (7,2%). 4,5% isolates belonged to serotype 4b which is associated with outbreaks of listeriosis in the abroad. |
