Description | The distribution of stone raw materials changed several times during the Mesolithic and Neolithic periods. These alterations reflect both the changing natural conditions and the shifting emphases in human thinking and action. In this paper I present the raw material distribution in the Mesolithic and Neolithic periods in eastern Central Europe (Hungary, Austria, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and Poland) and try to elucidate the character and background of raw material distribution and utilisation. Particular attention is paid to the beginnings of the Neolithic in Central Europe. |
