Description | The publication Political Economy of International Relations aims to apply the optics of the International Political Economy as a scholarly discipline on wide and extremely complex topic of interrelation between political power and economic flows. This discipline falls under the field of international relations and is mostly defined by its research subject, which is the dynamic relationship between politics and the state, on the one hand, and economic flows and the market, on the other, within the environment of international relations. We believe that the theoretical perspectives and analytical concepts of this discipline have interesting explanatory and interpretative potential and can thus serve as the sources of understanding and explanation for a number of fascinating current phenomena. The Book first defines the scientific discipline and presents its basic theoretical perspectives and concepts. It then focuses on four key research topics: international trade and trade policy; the international monetary system and capital flows; economic development and underdevelopment; and the formation of international economic and political system and its transformation. |
