Description | The paper presents the results of two studies on selected topics of positive psychology. In the first study we measured correlation rate of gratitude, well-being and Locus of Control in Czech secondary school students (n = 407). In accordance with the findings of foreign results we found positive relationship between the level of gratitude and personal well-being (r = 0.40), statistically significant relationship was found between gratitude and internal LoC. The second study focused on examining the relationship between hope, gratitude, and meaningfulness of life to personal well-being in Secondary School students (n = 175) and university students (n = 175). The aim of the study was comparison of results for both age groups, but also a comparison of results of Czech secondary school students and university students with the results of similar studies in Slovak students (Halama, 2001). University students have a significantly higher degree of wellbeing and greater hope than Secondary school students. Slovak Secondary school students achieve a higher level of hope than the Czech secondary school students, University students in both countries are nearly at the same level of hope. |
