Description This study is focused on the investigation of pupils’ attitudes toward geography as a teaching subject. The influence of variables like gender, grade and favorite subject on attitudes toward geography was investigated. The sample size consisted of 540 lower secondary school pupils from six schools. The number of girls was 315 and number of boys was 225. The age of respondents was between 11 – 15 years, the most of respondents was from 8th grade. The pupils’ attitudes were measured on the 5-point items of Likert type, the number of items was 27. The results were evaluated by factor analysis and analysis of variance. The reliability of the measurement tool was determined by the Cronbach’s alpha coefficient. The results showed relatively neutral Czech pupils’ attitudes toward geography. Next, the grade and favorite subject had the significant influence on the pupils’ attitudes toward geography. The effect of gender was not significant.
