Description | The paper presents recent findings on children’s physical activity during the time they spent at school. The research was carried out in 2009. The research method involved a detailed school-day time snapshot, among others showing the volume of physical activity, the intensity of physical strain, and the range of school physical activities. 138 children aged 7–11 attending various Czech primary schools participated in the survey. The results suggest that most Czech schools do not take advantage of available opportunities supporting health and physical activity in children sufficiently. The findings can contribute to improving pupils’ school regimen and designing programmes promoting their healthy lifestyle. |
