Keywords Iatrogenic injury to ICA; PTFE prosthesis interposition
Description We present a case report concerning an operation for simultaneous stenosis and kinking syndrome of the internal carotid artery (ICA) where iatrogenic injury to the internal carotid artery took place. The resulting urgent situation was solved with PTFE prosthesis interposition. This solution was chosen as a method of fi rst choice because of the time pressure where autologous material harvesting would inappropriately prolong the time of the ICA laceration repair.
