Description | The study presents the corpus of private correspondence created at Masaryk University and incorporated into the Czech National Corpus as a unique source of material for investigating hypocoristic forms of personal names and their incorporation into texts. The study also informs about a vast structured register of hypocoristic nouns excerpted from the above-mentioned corpus (about 1,000 lemmas representing 7,000 concretizations). Attention is paid especially to an analysis from the viewpoints of word-formation and to the classification of observed modifications of the personal names. Conclusions are based on detailed frequency analyses. |
