Description | The work describes the major forms and directions of empirical and scientific turn in contemporary ethics. To present the turn, the author makes use of the metaphor of several observation satellites that represent the basic approaches to the exploration of human brain and mind. The brain and the mind are considered to be the control units of moral decision making. The control unit of moral decision making is analyzed from the perspective of evolutionary ethics, primatology, neuroethics, moral psychology and experimental ethics. The basic approaches, themes and emphases of empirical exploration of moral decision making also represent the cooperation in complex research of moral decision making, moral emotions and intuitions. These approaches are briefly presented in the work. By emphasizing facts, experiments, predictions and explications, the scientific turn represents the best ambitions of modern thinking. |
