• Description: In the article the previous etymologies of the Tocharian verb AB kwär- "to grow old" are analysed in perspective of discussion of the development of Indo-European labiovelars in Tocharian. A new etymology is proposed, based on comparison with Indo-European forms of the type Latin "I grow, arise".
