| Description | Since 60s the „new religious movements“ have changed rapidly. The saving of children from the threat of destructive cults is no more needed and the movements – like the Unification Church (UC) – enjoy quite peaceful activities in the post-communist countries. Nevertheless, the typology of leave-takers and apostates stays nearly unaffected. I would like to show the limits of the “classical” categories of “leave-taker” and “apostate” using data from my own research among ex-members of UC and propose a possible solution which is more suitable for the current situation. |
